Fun Things to Do In The Summer

School is almost over!
That means no more tests, homework, last-minute
project that you forgot about all week, and studying.
And when schools out, summer is in!
Swimming, sleepovers, trips, and so much fun!
For the first week its all playing, exploring, having a blast, then it comes.
The two words that every parent cringes when they hear it
"I'm bored"
Well I'm only 14 years old so I don't have any kids, but when you have
4 younger siblings you hear it a lot.
That's why I put together this list. It's perfect for your kids or
if you have siblings (like me) that can keep them busy and
stop saying I'm bored and there's nothing to do.

  • Solve a puzzle
  • Build a pillow fort
Pintrest is a good one for this one. You make one out of chairs, a table, or my favorite an umbrella

  • Play a card game
Crazy Eights, Spoons, Go Fish, and Uno are some good ones
  • Make an animation video
I love making these. You can use Legos and toys or just use yourself
  • Swimming
Even if you don’t have a pool you still can see if there is a public pool near you
  • Play a bored game
  • Slide n' Slide
  • Make a bored jar
A bored jar is a jar that has slips of paper with stuff to do when you are bored. You pick a slip and do what is says so if it says read a book, read a book
  •  Paint the sidewalk with chalk paint

The paint is washable and super easy to make here is the link: Spray chalk Recipe

A 100 mile chart is throughout the summer your goal is to bike, swim, or run a 100 miles. Every time you do a mile you mark it off. Once you reach 100 you get a reward like ice cream

I love doing family movie nights! You make a dinner or a snack based off a movie, watch it and play some games

  • Make a summer passport
Once a week or twice a month you "visit" a country, eat traditional food, play some traditional games, try a dance, learn some facts, and sing some traditional songs

There is a movie theater near my house that shows free movies all summer. Some theaters show free or $1 movies

Wow Naomi! That is quite the list you have there. I will be sure to keep this in mind for the boys when they say they are bored!

We are getting ready for camping and we head out next week. With this crazy weather we have been getting we aren't able to go far this time. The mountains here still have snow on them! So thankful for the moisture, the hail damage, not so much!

I hope you have a wonderful summer darling!

Love and Hugs,
Amy
